Upcoming Events

For such an important character in the Christmas Story we hear very little about Mary until we hear her own voice in a visit with her cousin Elizabeth to share her news.  Our upcoming concert features a variety of exciting music to explore the experience of Mary as she awaits the arrival of her first born son.

Our Chamber Choir and our 70 voice SATB choir will join forces with accompanist, Adolfo DeSantis, 24 professional orchestral musicians and our very special guest McKenzie Warriner, soprano. We will present a number of contemporary Canadian pieces by Stephen Chatman, Andrew Balfour, Kathleen Allen, Edward Henderson, Adam Adler and Mark Sirett as well as music by G.F. Handel, Ola Gjielo, Eric Whitacre and, of course, ‘Mr Christmas’ himself, John Rutter, in his joyful Magnificat!

All of this beautiful and awe inspiring music will be performed on Saturday, November 28 at 3 p.m. in the warm and stunning sanctuary of St Maurice and St Verena at 3300 Hwy 7 in Markham (between McCowan and Woodbine.) Come to smile, to laugh, to be moved, and to be inspired!
